We’re thrilled to announce our selection by the TetraSpar consortium for the TetraSpar Innovation Competition! Among 40+ outstanding applicants, we’ve been chosen to fine-tune and test our cutting-edge modular and holistic condition monitoring solution (CMS) for floating wind technology.
Demonstration Floating Offshore Wind (FOWT) projects, such as TetraSpar by RWE, Shell, TEPCO, and Stiesdal are excellent opportunities for exploring innovative new technologies and de-risking the exciting but challenging renewable energy frontier of floating offshore wind.
Our CMS stands as a pivotal tool, enabling commercial-scale Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (FOWT) condition monitoring. It’s designed to significantly reduce operational risks, slash inspection and maintenance expenses, and extend the operating lifespan of the assets.
How
Our solution combines available sensor measurements with a digital twin (the SLOW model) and mooring integrity solution (SMIC).
SLOW stands for Simplified Low-Order Wind Turbine (SLOW) model, which is a fully coupled, non-linear, reduced-order, physics-based (aero-hydro-servo-elastic) model of a floating offshore wind turbine which calculates the motion of the floating wind turbine in real-time.
SMIC is AMOG’s field-proven Smart Mooring Integrity Checker, an advanced integrity monitoring software for floating structures, which has over 8 facility years of operation under its belt.
